Happy Retirement
December 31, 2023 marked the retirement date for Kathy Schubert (National Office Coordinator) and Sharon Dentry (Office Administrator) from the National office of the AUUC. Kathy joined the National Office in 2005 assuming the role of National Office co-ordinator when, then AUUC National President, Zeny Nykolyshyn passed away.
Sharon joined the AUUC in March 2013 and soon became an integral part of its functioning. Her organizational skills and ability to multitask proved invaluable to the AUUC over the years. Sharon kept the office running in an organized, professional manner. Many thanks are owed for her dedication and years of service as she embarks on the next stage of her life – retirement!
On her retirement Kathy told the Ukrainian Canadian Herald: “Through my years of employment as office coordinator with the AUUC I have had the opportunity to work with some very dedicated AUUC members who demonstrated why the AUUC is such a close-knit community. My work in the AUUC was many faceted and allowed me to expand my knowledge and understanding of many things AUUC. My retirement concludes my report writing which is probably to the relief of many, myself included. I would like to thank all of you who worked with us to ensure that the AUUC remain an important part of the Ukrainian Canadian Community.”.
